Album Review: Lady Gaga ‘Born This Way’
It's difficult to deny that Lady Gaga's Born This Way made a massive impression when it was released 11 years ago. Lady Gaga went on a worldwide tour after four songs from the album went multi-platinum and established herself as a pop icon.
Here’s a review of one of Lady Gaga’s most successful albums.
Announcement on Release
When Lady Gaga told an audience in Norway in November 2010 that Born This Way would be "the best album in a decade," her fans rubbed their hands in anticipation. Few albums have been marketed as aggressively as Born This Way. Billboards, subways, and even entire buildings have been covered with promotional material.

The 25-year-old diva tweeted, "My water just broke." Gaga's second studio album, Born This Way, was released worldwide on May 23, 2011.
The Message Behind The Album
"Born This Way" has similarities to Madonna's "Express Yourself," but Gaga's song has a unique vibe. But this hardly detracted from the song's success: its message of optimism and self-empowerment helped 'Born This Way' reach No. 1 on the US Hot 100, achieving her third Hot 100 chart-topper.
Most Daring Pop Album
Both musically and lyrically, "Born This Way" is one of the most daring pop albums of the decade. The album features electro-sleaze sounds and Eurodisco chorus shouts that helped her become known as the Fame Monster.
The way Gaga uses her childhood recordings by Eddie Money, Pat Benatar, and Bon Jovi is a nice touch.
Best Picks from The Album
Marry The Night
'Marry The Night' is a complex, bold, and artistic love ballad to Gaga's hometown, and its inclusion as the first track on "Born This Way" serves to contextualize an artist who was bold but still secretive at the time.
Judas
'Judas' is more like the delightfully insane, turbocharged successor to 'Bad Romance.' Gaga switches between a robotic half-rap, a bizarre mewling cry, and perfect pop vocals.
Born This Way
One of the number 1 single 'Born This Way' helps to put global attention on various viewpoints that have previously been marginalized. There's something incredibly appealing about that massive chorus. Gaga wants to transform the world, not simply make the best, most uplifting LGBTQI song of all time.
